Our Story
In April 2020, Danny Berrios of Smucker’s reached out to Greg Seminara of Export Solutions to inquire how other food companies were handling Covid-19 pandemic related issues. After a lively discussion, Danny concluded “ I wish there was a USA organization where export managers could network and learn strategies for international development. In the USA there are many industry organizations, all appropriately focused on USA market dynamics. However, there is no category wide group dedicated to handling export challenges.”
Greg validated Danny’s comments. “Sometimes we feel like the export department is isolated, a small team responsible for creating global miracles .” Greg connected with nine other leading CPG companies to check if they would participate in forming a group. All nine said Yes and represent charter members of the USA Food Export Group today.

On January 1, 2026, our group started a new chapter as the USA Consumer Brands International Association. This represents a logical evolution to include personal care and non-food manufacturers such as Church & Dwight, Kao Brands, Reynolds, and Duracell that are active members of our group. The term international signals that our members are interested in strategic international brand building, beyond tactical exports of USA products.
Mission
Our goal is to provide a personal forum for international consumer products executives to network and learn best practices regarding export development. These insights should lead to accelerated growth for our members.
